Recruiting Platform Rewrite and Migration
Led the DevOps process to upgrade PHP from 7 to 8, React to Node 21, and migrated all services to Google Cloud Platform with GKE, implementing GitOps principles.
Challenge
The platform was comprised of several PHP backend services, React frontend, MongoDB, Redis, supervisor, and a WordPress site. The client needed to upgrade from PHP 7 to the latest PHP 8, React to the latest Node 21 version, and migrate all services to a more scalable cloud infrastructure.
Solution
Led the DevOps process to upgrade PHP from 7 to latest PHP 8, React to latest Node 21 version and other services to latest ones. Migrated all services to Google Cloud Platform with GCP setup from scratch with IAM, billing and project setup.
Results
Fully compliant, Secure and repeatable infrastructure, Operating costs reduced by 40%, Legacy software vulnerabilities eliminated, Application speed increased by 30%, Feature shipping speed almost doubled
